Sometimes, in our arrogant independence, we can develop some really short-sighted personal problems, especially those of a spiritual nature. Difficulties arise that greatly inhibit our ability to see and comprehend and understand life, not to mention see and comprehend and understand the Bible and Biblical principles. We pass up obvious opportunities to grow in our faith and knowledge; we refuse to participate in a challenging study or discussion that would stretch our faith; we are too busy to attend learning, growing activities and discipleship studies; we refuse to be a part of a new prayer or study group because we are too confident or complacent in our faith.
